Message to members from the National President re COVID-19

Public (Anyone can see)

COVID-19 Risk Statement to our Members

I’m sure you are actively managing or preparing your families, clients, and businesses with reports of Coronavirus outbreaks around the world. In line with the increasing concerns we wanted to assure our members that we are unaffected at this time and it is business as usual at the IMC.

As your professional association, business continuity is top of mind for both our business and yours as a valued member.

This communication is to share with you the IMC’s plans on how we will continue to support our members, no matter your location nationally, in the days, weeks, and months to come. Here are some specifics.

Our Business Continuity and Support to Members

As ‘the home of professional management consultants’ in Australia, the IMC is committed to:

  • Continuing to offer quality professional development activities in an accessible and safe manner in keeping with the recommendations of government and health experts;
  • Continued accessibility as our Executive Officer and other support services operate remotely or work-from-home if needed;
  • Continued operation as a virtual organisation and therefore restricting or avoiding any unnecessary travel;
  • Continued availability of services as all our systems are cloud based and are able to be accessed no matter where our members are located; and
  • Continually monitoring the provision of our support services for potential impacts as part of our existing business continuity plans that are in place.

Support to You via Ongoing Professional Development

In the interests of ensuring that our members have access to quality ongoing professional development activities in a safe environment, we have taken the unfortunate step to immediately postpone all face-to-face events for the next three months. We will continue to monitor the situation over this period and keep you informed if this should change. We will refund any registration fees already paid.

In order to ensure that you have continued access to quality professional development activities particularly at this challenging time, we are working hard to bring you a comprehensive program of webinars and online resources to support you and your clients as we all adapt to working in a virtual environment. As per our tradition, the IMC will continue to offer our webinars free of charge to our members to ensure that you have unlimited access to quality support and information.

Support to Your Clients

We understand that many of your clients will be faced with preparing business continuity plans. As professional management consultants, we are well placed to be able to provide expert advice and assistance to our clients in these difficult times.

The IMC will be implementing a marketing campaign to support you, our members, to maintain your own business continuity. Our campaign will highlight the value of seeking the expert advice of a professional management consultant who can assist with strategies and solutions to maintain business continuity.

The IMC Team

Your IMC Federal Council, State Chapters and Executive Officer are a dedicated team, aiming to provide the best support by way of professional development and member benefits to you, our members. As a volunteer organisation, we are making decisions, like you, in real time on when to work remotely, reducing non-critical travel and observing guidance from trusted channels to keep everyone on our team safe.

We understand your strong commitment to your own clients and your interest in their livelihood and we feel the same way. Please reach out to our Executive Officer, your local Chapter President or myself personally If there is anything that the IMC can do to further support you to support your clients.
