IMC | Management Consultancy Toolbox

Management Consultancy Toolbox - providing a pathway to become a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). Are you a management consultant aiming for best practice in order to achieve your international Certified Management Consultant (CMC) status? This program is the next step after our Start Up Series in providing a pathway for building your competence across the CMC Competency Framework. The five practical modules are complemented with tools and templates and are supported by mentoring by the facilitators between sessions. The program will introduce you to the new ISO 20700:2017 Guidelines for Management Consultancy and support you to be ready to apply for CMC status.

 


Modules

  • Module 1 - Introduction, program overview, consulting lifecycle, project management for consulting projects, preparing client proposals
  • Module 2 – Preparing a consultant contract for engagement, preparing work plan for implementation
  • Module 3 – Executing the work plan, finalising the work plan and contract, developing business plans
  • Module 4 Managing a consultancy practice, Identify and evaluate marketing opportunities, developing a marketing plan
  • Module 5 - Building and maintaining business relationships, managing programs and multiple clients, practice management considerations


Each session will include digital tools and templates that will be used for activity based learning with two hours of individual coaching at the end of the program.

At the end of this program participants will be able to:

  • Apply the language of a Management Consultant Service Provider (MCSP)
  • Identify marketing opportunities
  • Develop a business plan for your consulting practice
  • Understand how to build and maintain relationships required for a consultancy practice
  • Apply the processes following the consultancy life cycle as prescribed in the ISO20700:2017 standard and project management tools
  • Provided with a baseline consultancy toolbox to build your consulting business
  • Become familiar with key resources for management consulting and project management

Program Trainers

Dr Nick Hadjinicolaou

Nick is a certified IMC Management Consultant and certified in ISO 20700:2017. A Management consultant and trainer for over 20 years in project management, contract management, business resilience and organisational agility. A practicing project, program and PMO manager for public and private, small and large.Companies include Telstra, IBM, SA Government, Business SA, 3Pillars Asia Pacific, NCVER and several other clients. In 2014 joined Torrens University Australia to build a new national University and Head of the Masters of Global Project Management program. He has been a Past President of the SA/NT Chapter of IMC and current president of the Australian Chapter for the Association of Strategic Planning providing coaching.

PhD Project Management (2019, Torrens University Australia), Masters of Project Management (2009, University of Adelaide), Masters of Business Administration (1994, University of Adelaide), Bachelor of Science (1986, Flinders University of SA), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment  Certifications: AgilePM, Certified Program & Project Management Professional (PgMP, PMP), (Past PMI Adelaide Board Member), ISO20700:2017, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Agile Scrum

Tony Simmonds

Tony is a certified IMC Management Consultant and certified in ISO 20700:2017 and has trainer and consultant for over 40 years.He is passionate about making a difference to individuals and organisations through education and skills development. His areas of specialty are Project, Program and Portfolio Management; Risk Management, Consultancy and Corporate Social Responsibility. Tony developed and now delivers the Diploma of Consultancy 10942NAT for IMC Members.

Certifications: CMC; CPPD; CPRM; IPMA Level A®: Certified Projects Director; PRINCE 2
