Executive Officer’s Update

It has been a busy start to the 2022 year for IMC, and it has been very encouraging to see 24 new members join us since the beginning of the year. A very warm welcome to you all!
As mentioned in the update by our National President and Board Chair, Peter Westlund, we are very excited to host two major professional development events this year – the ICMCI Asia-Pacific CMC-Global Hub meeting on 14 June and our National Conference in Canberra on 10 October. We hope you will mark them on your calendar so that we can catch up virtually and in person!
ICMCI Regional Hub Meetings
The ICMCI’s Regional Hub meetings aim to foster cooperation between the member IMCs to discuss regional and local issues that may not be perceived as relevant globally. Hub meetings occur annually and are aligned to the strategic and operational timelines of ICMCI to enable the sharing of the Board’s strategic initiatives and seek feedback and input from member IMCs before the ICMCI Board meeting later in the year. As well as member consultation, the Hub meetings also include professional development and networking opportunities for members of the region’s IMCs.
Given that Covid is still with us, this year's Hub meeting will be virtual and held between 1 pm and 4 pm AEST to provide the best availability for our Asia Pacific neighbours. The theme is ‘The Future of Consulting in a VUCA World’.
We hope you will join us for the opportunity to:
- Meet the ICMCI Board and hear first-hand the initiatives within the ICMCI Strategic Plan
- Meet our Asia Pacific Hub Chair, Lydia Goh, who is also President of IMC Singapore
- Broaden your network by connecting with other APAC IMC members and delegates
- Gain from three highly credentialled guest speakers who will share the latest developments in the circular economy, sustainability, and clean energy related to management consulting.
We will be releasing program and registration details shortly. We hope you will join us for a very informative session and the opportunity to contribute to the global management consulting community.
2022 National Conference – ‘Keeping Ahead of the Curve.’
With the changing economic landscape and global events, keeping one step ahead is even more critical. This year, the National Conference aims to focus on those critical few issues that are having, or are predicted to have, the most impact on business and the economy going forward. For management consultants, keeping abreast of these issues in terms of both knowledge and capability can be challenging. IMC has also made the bold decision to go back to an in-person format for the Conference this year to enhance the ability to network, discuss, collaborate, and leverage the learnings and relationships gained from the day.
This will be the Conference for management consultants to attend. We hope that you will take the time to participate in person and connect with IMC colleagues, partners, and sponsors.
We will also be releasing our Sponsorship Prospectus very shortly, which will include several sponsorship packages to enable you to highlight your brand before, during, and after the Conference.
We trust that you will enjoy this edition of The Australian Consultant and welcome any suggestions you may have for other topics and inclusions. IMC will also be providing options for advertising and promotion in coming editions.
